Safety and Security
Client safety and security is our priority. We are operating escorted tours within Iraqi Kurdistan at this time because we believe it is safe to do so.
The management team of Kurdistan Adventures liaises closely with the Kurdistan Government and a Kurdish registered risk management advisory, who are able to provide security intelligence from a wide range of sources in assessing whether the itinerary should operate. This means that if we believe that a tour cannot be conducted due to a change in the security situation (currently assessed at very good), we will either make changes to the tour as planned, or not conduct the tour.
Additionally, the Kurdistan Adventures management team can draw on several years of collective experience (including risk management) in both working and residing in the region.
We believe the security arrangements established by the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) are sensible and appropriate.

We understand that some of the foreign offices of several governments, including the following, warn against some, essential or all travel to Iraq.
We do however note with positive interest, that several countries make a strong distinction between the improved security situation of Iraqi Kurdistan (aka the Kurdistan Region) and that of the rest of Iraq. We would encourage prospective clients to consult the official travel advice of their government foreign office for further information.
We advise all clients to obtain the necessary travel and medical insurance, which is a condition of travel with us.
